Hugo's Ministry Description | Associate Minister, Iglesia de Cristo
My personal mission statement is: Motivated by God's glory I will seek to continually grow spiritually, socially, mentally, and emotionally, in order to more effectively preach and teach, counsel and present the gospel to people who are looking for God.
My vision statement is: to became a holistic preacher and missionary, an instrument of service to people in need and an instrument of glory to God.
In order to accomplish God's mission within the Manhattan church of Christ I have divided my areas of ministry in 5 categories.
Teach, preach, counseling, missions, and personal development. The preaching teaching and counseling parts I get the blessing to be able to practice here at the Manhattan congregation. The mission's part is also a big part of the Manhattan church since we want to plant churches in the New York City area. I have a couple of groups, one in Queens and one in White Plains with an eye to start Hispanic churches on those two places. I am by no way limited to these areas. My heart is also in Latin America, especially Dominican Republic where we have a lot of growing churches. My dream is to help them provide education for their leadership, so the church get empower to preach to middle an upper classes.
Personal development is also practice everyday. Doing ministry in a big city like New York, everyday is a challenge to one's values, dreams, priorities, commitments and life. This environment keep stretching me and teaching me. I take some classes and read to be able to keep current. Of course I feel like I am behind, which also teaches me to have patience with myself.
