JASON ISBELL | Youth Minister
About Us
Jason has been ministering to urban and at-risk youth since 1995, and has been working, specifically, with New York City teens since 1999 when he joined the ministry team at the Manhattan Church of Christ.
For ten years Jason served as the Camp Director and Teen Mentoring Program leader for Shiloh, a not-for-profit Christian organization committed to equipping at-risk youth with tools to build hope by teaching, mentoring, and befriending them to promote their spiritual, mental, and emotional growth.
Presently, the combined ministries of Heir Force and Shiloh touch more than 200 youth in the New York City area. Jason, as well as many other volunteers, are committed to creating an environment where urban teens can know God and his relevance in their lives, and will come to desire a personal relationship with Him through Jesus Christ.
Jason received his Bachelor's in Psychology from Abilene Christian University in 1997, and served for one year as a youth intern at the Preston Road Church of Christ in Dallas, Texas. On April 18, 1998 he married Allison (Rector) Isbell and has fallen more and more in love with her every day since then. She is an incredible partner in ministry and an inspiration to him. Jason loves music, playing the guitar, golf, beating every teenager in any X-Box game, and going out to eat in nice NYC restaurants.
Jason is actively seeking to become enrolled in a Graduate School that will equip him theologically and practically to carry on long-term urban youth ministry. He is absolutely thrilled about being the father to his two sons Levi and Zeke. |
