About Us
Carl is originally from Louisville, Kentucy, arriving in NYC in 1989 right after college. He came to NYC to pursue a career as an actor; he has maintained that pursuit for 14 years appearing in many Off-Broadway productions, tours & feature and independent films. Carl also has his own production company called Magswing, which specializes in jazz, nostalgia and tributes to great American legends of the 30`s and 40`s. Carl has been in outreach ministry for 10 years after experiencing what it feels like to be without a home and resources.
He accepted the Lord's call to serve in the ministry at the Manhattan Church of Christ, and has not looked back since. He feels the people who are poor and marginalized in our communities should be pursued by houses of faith and should be afforded the best possible spiritual resources. Carl feels very blessed to worship and minister at a congregation that has empowering leadership and spirit open to the Lords leading.
In 2001 Carl married the love of his life, the former Christine Tracey Buckner, after meeting years earlier at an acting competition in which she won!!! God has brought them together for a shared life of love & ministry as she blesses the Community of Hope & The Women's Fellowship with her gifts... Amen.
